How to Transfer Current Kuwait Dependent Visa from Old to Newly Issued (Philippine) Passport

Being an expat is not easy abiding to all the rules set by the country you reside.  Make sure that you follow, do not neglect and never violate especially when it comes to visa or residency issues.

There is a rule that the passport must be renewed six months prior its expiration date, if it gets over, then there is a probability that the visa may not be renewed or may even affect your travel as well.

If the issued passport is nearly expiring on which the current Kuwait residency is stamped on the passport, then it must be renewed at the earliest.  Once you receive the newly issued passport after renewal then the valid stamped residency must be transferred on the new passport.

What do we need?

- Passport copies of both old and new passport (data page & visa).
- Civil ID copy of dependent (wife & child) and sponsor (father or mother, in some cases).
- Two photographs - blue b/g
- Accomplished forms

Then proceed to your respective immigration office according to the address stated on the Civil ID.

Immigration offices in Kuwait normally opens from Sunday to Thursday at 7:30 am till 1:00 pm.  It is suggested to be early to secure the form for typing the information required (in Arabic).  Each form cost KWD 0.750 fils.  Make sure that the photos are attached on both the forms (sorry I don't have samples) along with copies mentioned above.

Once all the requirements are completed then get a token and wait for your turn to submit the documents for assessment.  After it has been signed and approved by the officer then proceed for the next step by getting another token for the final stage.   There shouldn't be an issue if you submit the correct documents.

That simple!  I started early in the morning approx. 7:45 am, I brought with me the correct required documents and I ended before 10:00 am (for my three kids).
